Getting Our Hands Dirty

Updated: Jan 1, 2021

I've been doing some reading lately on soil and it really is so amazing.

From what I've been reading, I've discovered that elements of the top soil in Australia are apparently gone due to the clearing the land back in the day, which means some of our food is growing in soil that is deprived of some vital nutrients.

I started composting a few years ago, and I have two worm farms and it has been incredible to see how much green waste I have not had to put in landfill because of these amazing systems.

So if this Spring you are getting really inspired to grow your own food, there is so much that you can be planting now: asparagus, spinach, leafy greens, kale, silverbeet, cauliflower, potatoes, peas the list goes on!

Would you consider starting to compost your green kitchen scraps?

It really is amazing, and then when you are ready to plant for next season, you will have the most nutrient dense soil for your veggies, which in turn will create a nutrient dense you!
